No more hospital (fingers crossed, knock on wood, etc)

Well...after spending over 3 weeks in the hospital after her weight loss surgery, my wife is home and on the mend. SERIOUS MENDING...she has a hole in her abdomen that looks almost like she's been prepared to accept a Goa'uld symbiote! Thankfully by friday they'll have this thing called a wound vac. Basically it sucks out all the nasty stuff so no bacteria can grow (at least...not well), increases local blood flow and holds the edges of the wound tightly together. All this makes the wound heal many times faster than it normally would.

Well, today my wife begins her first day of an all liquid diet. She has to do it for two weeks..until her surgery. After the surgery she'll have a stomach about the size of an egg, woah!

Work's been a bitch...don't even bother asking me WTF I've been up to. I get home from work and just veg. But things are looking up so soon I'll (hopefully) feel like doing something...ANYTHING again. Well, it's not ENTIRELY the work that's to blame, there's also the fact that once again I'm COMPLETELY BROKE. Hard to get anything done when you feel bad about spending a couple dollars on parts.

We had a free moving coming (had to be out at least 2 weeks) so me and the wife went to see Dumb and Dumberer. I really had LOW expectations coming it but it really wasn't all that bad...although obviously it could have been a lot better.

Still on the topic of movies...I keep watching that fight scene from Matrix Reloaded (over and over and over and over...) Also, after watching the first part of the movie again, I appreciate the big bohemian dance party a little more...sure, it's artsy but so are the fight scenes.

On the subject of Poitsplace, I'm still goofing off and not getting anything really productive done (although I was bored one day and antialiased a bigger version of the poitsplace logo BY HAND...you can see it HERE (assuming it's not already replacing the old motherboard looking block graphic)

I was just at the grocery store and noticed a box with a picture of Rogue on the front (the chick from X-men). It was labeled TANG...and I couldn't agree more.

...hmmm, but now that I think about it, it was probably some sort of beverage.

Well, after digging thru the tutorials a bit, I think I finally have enough information to make a half way decent PHP page. Nothing grand like a content management system...just a single page that tosses up the content. Since it's a single page it will be a little easier to update things...I won't have to do any of the funky server side includes I used to do (which required extra changes when I added content).
I'm also going to start working on that pesky 404 adventure page. I like it, but it's currently just a bunch of interlinked HTML pages...not terribly functional. It will probably take a while (if I manage to do it at all) because I'm a complete noob when it comes to PHP.

Got my news posting program installed
Well, after a little bit of screwing around I finally have my posting program installed. Of course, I still have TONS of work left to do on the site.
